In a world where time is of the essence and trends change faster than you can say “blink”, it’s no surprise that automation is vital to surviving. (Thumbs up to you if you don’t need automation)
And because keeping people’s attention for longer than three seconds is almost an impossible feat automation on social media has become necessary. Whether you’re in charge of your social media or a social media manager, it can get really tiring posting the same thing cross platforms min the bid to get to your followers. I’ve had experience with this and luckily for me, I found IFTTT on my first hunt.
IFTTT which means If This Then That is an automation tool that let’s you feel like superman. (No. Literally)
Now you don’t have to stretch yourself thin posting across all your social platforms. I should however say sometimes longevity of a post life is increased when it’s content is tailored specifically to a social platform. But if your content will fit any platform or you just want to make life easier for you then viola!
First before you start using IFTTT choose a base platform that will then be the conduit for other platforms to plug into. For me, it’s Instagram.
Next choose recipes that fit your needs
This recipe above means that whatever pictures you post to your Instagram profile goes to your Facebook profile as well. This saves valuable time that you can use on other things. Or more time to surf through social media. Yaaaaaaaaayyyy!
Here are a few more examples of recipes.
These are just basic recipes and when you get a handle on how to use this social media tool, you can add other recipes like trello, Wikipedia and even your Philip Hue bulb.
